About eCITES

Following the signing of an MOU between the CITES Secretariat and UNCTAD, using project sponsorship received by the Government of Switzerland, both organizations have jointly developed a cloud-based electronic system that automates CITES related permit application, processing and issuance, as well as generating statistical reporting for customs.

The technical infrastructure of the core service is initially being hosted and maintained by UNCTAD.
